Containly 2.5.1 is released. It is a small update that makes setting up backup targets safer and the backup overview easier to read.

    New in 2.5.1

    • Test connection in every backup target dialog: New and edit dialogs for local folder, host path, S3, SFTP, SMB and NFS have an optional Test connection button. It checks the settings before you save: it writes a uniquely named test object, reads it back, compares it and removes it again. It never creates folders and never overwrites existing files. If the clean-up fails, you see an error instead of a success. Nothing is saved or pinned by a test.
    • With backups filter: The backup overview has a new segment after All that lists only resources with at least one complete backup set. The counts follow the selected host and your search.
    • Backup list spacing: Icons, names and the details line no longer touch the row borders.

Saved targets use the same safer test now, and a stored password is only reused for the same destination. If you change the host or account, enter the password again.
