Activate a licence and move it to a new server

  1. Containly team

    Activate

    1. In Containly open Settings, Version and licence.
    2. Paste the key from the e-mail under "Have a key?" (it starts with CL1-) and click Activate.

Keys from the shop need Containly 2.1.0 or newer. The key is stored in the data volume and stays active across updates. For the licence check the server needs outbound HTTPS to containly.ch; the stored lease bridges short outages.

    Move to a new server

A licence covers one Containly installation with any number of Docker hosts. To move, free the old installation:

    • On the old server: Settings, Version and licence, Deactivate.
    • Or in your Containly account: open the licence and click "Free for a move" next to the old installation. The place is free right away; the old server loses Pro at its next licence check (about once a day). This works up to 3 times per licence within 24 hours.

Then activate the key on the new server.

    Important

Never post your licence key in the forum. For questions about a specific licence or payment, open a support request in your account or write to support@containly.ch.
